ACTIVITIES MADE ON DECEMBER
TWO (2) IMMERSED IN CHRIST
On December 27 were baptized the following brethren:
1. Clara Ramírez, who is an adult lady.
2. Joel Amós Espinal Heredia: He is sixteen years old, and he is one of the four (4) young who were immersed in Christ in the year 2009. He is member of the group of young of 11-16 years old; therefore he is going to move to the other young program. His parents are Puerto Plata Church`s members.
OBSERVATION
Because I forgot to include a baptism in the evangelistic report for September, October and November, I`m including that information in this evangelistic report for December. I`m Sorry.
On September 24-2009, my uncle Máximo Raúl Mercado was immersed in Christ in Puerto Plata Church of Christ. During several months he was visiting us in our worships every Sunday morning. On September 23, after our prayer meeting, he stands up and took the decision to be a Christian man, and the next day morning he was immersed in Christ. That day in the afternoon he traveled to Miami Fl. to visit at the hospital there, because he is very sick about his kidneys which are damaged, therefore he must dialyze twice every week, and also he’s diabetic and so on. Please remember him in your prayers. His wife, sons and daughter are Christians. Some of them are American citizen and others one residents. One of them is living with his family in Santo Domingo, but next months they will be moving to Miami to live there too. They are visiting the Sunset Church of Christ in Miami Fl. For God’s mercy all of them are fruits of our work in the Lord, beginning in Puerto Plata and continuing in Santo Domingo. They are wonderful families in the Lord.
On December 28, we celebrated a great young meeting. It was at the family Perez Brito home (house). Sister Carmen Brito is one of the leader’s teams who are leading the two young people programs. Brother Eliezer García and Sister Carmen Brito are leading the group of sixteen until twenty five years old, and Juan Mercado and Vanessa Mercado are leading the group of eleven until sixteen years old. In that meeting were around ninety people with young from several Church of Christ’s congregations from Puerto Plata, including several adults. In that meeting we uroll a program at 8:00-11:00 p.m. It was great.
On December 31, We celebrated other great meeting together at brethren from several Church`s congregations from Puerto Plata and some visitors. It was celebrated at the Puerto Plata Church of Christ’s bulding. We urolled a program at 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight. It was a thanksgiving meeting to our God for all the blessing that we received from Him on the year 2009 and also to request his blessing to the New Year 2010. Around one hundred and ninety (190) people were there. We requested Him the blessing for all our supporters, for us, and also for our plan to be done in the New Year and so on. We enjoyed very much about that.
IMMERSED IN CHRIST IN PUERTO PLATA CITY AND AREAS AROUND IN THE YEAR 2009
On the year 2009, twenty one (21) people were immersed in Christ, however, five (5) of them are out of the Church; therefore we are going to work to get they come back to the Lord.
Brother Victor Martínez and family tooke the decision to form a new Church of Christ`s congregation in their home (house.)We hope that they be able to get it, if is God’s willing.
OUR PLAN TO BE DONE FOR THE YEAR 2010
As you can see in our evangelistic reports, God blessed our job in the year 2009, and we hope in Him to be able to get be better workers in that New Year 2010, to make a better job.
1. To finish the repair and adding to the Puerto Plata Church of Christ`s building.
2. To work very hard to get to fill our new conference room of Christian people, which is able to receive around one hundred eighty (180) people, however, with the next work that we are going to make, it will be able to received two hundred people seated.
3. To build a large room of block side the church’s building, to have three classrooms with movable divisions, to our young and children programs. This way, when we need that place to be used as conference room and other activities, we will move these divisions. Now we are using three classrooms of the school, which is side the Puerto Plata Church building. The managers of that school are helping us about that, but we don´t know how long we are going to stay there, therefore, we have to be ready about that. And also we need to build two bathrooms to the ladies, men and children.
4. To form a new congregation in Belloso, La Isabela, where we have a house and a lot very good to the Church there. We are going to begin these meetings in that house’s living room.
5. To build or to begin to build the conference room in San Marcos Church of Christ, where we have a lot to the Church there. It`s a district of Puerto Plata city.
6. To get a new and bigger vehicle, because my little jeep is very old. It’s of 1987, and now it’s in bad condition, however it has been a great blessing to my work here. Now we must do other repair it.
7. Puerto Plata Church of Christ is going to needs a new autobus of fifeen to twenty people seated, to unroll a better program about the personal evangelism in group of people inside and outside the city. Our little minibus is very old, in very bad condition. It is of 1985 and it has worked very hard.
8. Imbert and Belloso will need to build conference rooms. Some of these plans will be made on the year 2011 with God’s willing, but we will try and will work about that with our faith put in the Lord.
9. As family, we will try to stay to our younger daughter Jeannelly at the university, with God’s willing. She will be a good dentist, because she is a good student, and God’s daughter. We appreciate the love of some brethren who are helping with a small support about that, and are our prayer that our God bless them now and forever.
ABOUT THE EARTH QUAKE IN HAITI
As you know, Puerto Principe, the Haiti`s capital was destroyed, many people died and many people from there are needing help. Dominican Republic and many countries are helping them, however the Church of Christ in Dominican Republic is working very hard to get a good economic help to help to our brethren from there. And also we are requesting economic help to our supporters, brethren and fiends, from United States.
A committee of preachers from Dominican Republic will be traveling to Haiti, to give that economic help to the preachers and brethren of the Church of Christ there. It’s dangerous, but we are christians and Christ`s soldiers and with God`s help we will do it. Today brother Joseph, who is a haitian preacher, but he is working as manager of a preachers training school in Puerto Plata, he said me that his supporter and he had plan to travel to Haití next Thursday, but they took the decision to travel together at us in one trip. Because it’s very dangerous to travel into Haití without soldiers, a team of preachers from Puerto Príncipe will come to Jimaní or Dajabón (at the border) to meet with us there. One of the Church of Christ’s preachers from there, died. His name was Jonas Alexander. But we have other bad news: In Puerto Principe there is a church of Christ’s congregation with around eight hundred members. When the Earth Quake came, they were celebrating a meeting with one hundred and fifty (150) people, and all of them died. I’m so sorry about that. Please help us to help them in Christ´s love.
If you want to participate about that humanitarian work together at us, you can to comunicate with the brother Lonnie Browning in Canton church of Christ, Texas, E-mail: CircleB@etcable.net P.O. Box 1526, Canton, TX 75103, or with the brother Greg True from Saturn Road Church of Christ, TX, E-mails:gwtmst@aol.com or gwtmst@hotmail.com They are members of the Missons Committee there, and our contacts in these congregations.
Our love, gratitude and greetings to all of you, who work and preach the gospel together at us as supporters in that part of the World.
Wherever you go and whatever you do, God be with you forever.
Lucrecio Mercado Hernandez
Minister
